White Dwelling states terrorist encounters at border are ‘uncommon,’ touts Border Patrol for ‘doing their job’

The White House on Monday claimed encounters with suspected terrorists at the U.S. Southern Border are “uncommon,” immediately after 23 people today on the terror watchlist have been apprehended in 2021.

Online News 72h first described on Monday that U.S. Border Patrol apprehended at minimum 23 persons coming across the southern border whose names were being on the terror watchlist in 2021, according to U.S. Customs and Border Defense (CBP) facts.


Concerning Jan. 20 and Dec. 27, 2021, there ended up 23 encounters with individuals whose names matched on the Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB).

Four were in the Rio Grande Valley Sector, 4 in Del Rio Sector, 3 in El Paso Sector, 2 in Tucson Sector, 2 in Yuma Sector, 4 in El Centro Sector and 4 in San Diego Sector. The details was provided to Online News 72h in response to a Freedom of Facts Act (FOIA) ask for submitted in December.

When asked for response from the White Dwelling, push secretary Jen Psaki on Monday claimed the information “means the Border Patrol was undertaking their occupation.” 

“I imply, they apprehended individuals at the border,” Psaki mentioned.

Psaki claimed that “suspected terrorists trying to cross the Southern Border” are “incredibly unusual.”

“I note these people, these 23 individuals, the border patrol, they stopped them,” Psaki claimed. “They prevented them from finding into the nation.”


Psaki extra: “They’re shielding our homeland and keeping us risk-free.”

When pressed for a reaction from President Biden, Psaki stated the president is “grateful to the Border Patrol for performing their career and and halting these people today and protecting against them from obtaining into the country.”

The Terrorist Screening Databases (TSDB) contains details about the identities of those people who are known or “reasonably suspected” of currently being included in terrorist actions. Republicans lawmakers have repeatedly called for the quantity of people encountered at the border to be produced public by the administration.
