Ukraine Maritime commander tells Pope Mariupol is ‘what hell on earth seems to be like’

A Ukraine Maritime commander who is trying to defend Mariupol has published a letter to Pope Francis pleading for assist, declaring that the besieged metropolis “is what hell on earth appears to be like like.” 

The desperate message from Maj. Serhiy Volyna of the 36th Different Marine Brigade was revealed Monday by the Ukrainska Pravda newspaper.

Volnya, who describes himself as Orthodox, says he thinks in God and “I know that light-weight constantly overcomes darkness.” 

“I have not noticed your appeals to the world and I have not browse all your new statements I have been combating for far more than 50 times, absolutely surrounded, and all I have time for is a intense battle for each individual meter of this city that is surrounded by the enemy,” he reported in his letter to Francis. 

“I have minimal time to explain all the horrors I see listed here each and every working day.
