Peace talks stall following Russia pushes referendum to consider over parts of southern Ukraine

Peace talks involving Ukrainian and Russian negotiators stalled Friday right after revelations surfaced suggesting Moscow would find a referendum to annex parts of southern Ukraine. 

The war in Ukraine has persisted for virtually 60 days with Russian troops allegedly having large losses. 

Ukrainian protection officials reported Friday that they had received intelligence suggesting that Moscow was searching to make up for its personnel losses by conscripting Ukrainian males in locations southwest of the Donbas – where the vast majority of hefty fighting is at the moment concentrated.

After two days of resumed negotiations, a high-position Ukrainian formal reportedly stated that talks experienced stopped and Kyiv experienced issued the Kremlin an “ultimatum” relating to its intense strategies in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, 1st described Ukrainian news outlet Pravada.

UKRAINE States RUSSIA Appears TO ‘REPLENISH’ TROOPS BY CONSCRIPTING UKRAINIANS

But Russian International Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed Friday that an current proposal from Moscow experienced gone unanswered.

“We were being negotiating. Now they have stopped because 5 times in the past the next proposal we handed to the Ukrainian negotiators – which was formulated dependent on their reviews at the time – remains unanswered,” he claimed during a press conference. 

It continues to be unclear what updates were being involved in the most latest round of negotiations.

While Zelenskyy refuted these statements and explained Ukrainian negotiators under no circumstances been given any these kinds of proposal. 

“We have not obtained anything,” he mentioned in reaction to queries on the talks.

Zelenskyy has formerly warned that negotiations could crumble if Russia carries on to aggressively bombard civilians trapped inside of Mariupol. 

Lavrov dismissed the warning Friday and claimed Russia will not tolerate any ultimatums.
